Taking advantage of the great weather we have had in September, we are still enjoying our outdoor learning each day. We have continued to explore the fields around our school and have found some amazing things.
Initially, we were focusing on ladybugs, but once students started to slow down and look a little closer, we began to find some pretty exciting insects. We have found caterpillars, crickets, a toad, at least two types of spiders and two types of snails, beetles, and praying mantises. We also found two varieties of mushrooms on "Mushroom Ridge". As the weather changes, it will be interesting to see what other/different types of insects and plants we find.
Friday was a windy day so we decided to take the materials we would need to make streamers outside with us. Students had a great time running with their streamers in the wind.
As the weather continues to change with the arrival of fall, we will continue to have outdoor learning each day. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately.
