The school has started collecting items for the Christmas for Kids drive. This is our third year working with Christmas for Kids. All collected items will be given to families in our area.
The children that are supported through this program have the same needs and desires that our own children and grandchildren have. The older children and teenagers are more of a challenge; many need school supplies, certificates for Wal-Mart or Old Navy to buy clothing, toiletries and makeup. Books from any of the popular book series or a Chapters certificates are great, as are adult sized sports socks for men and women.
We will be collecting food (in boxes and cans - nothing in bags or glass containers), new unwrapped toys, socks, mitts and hats from Dec 1 to Dec 12. Cash and gift card donations are also accepted.
Donations will be tracked from each class on the bulletin board by the staff room door, Room 106 challenges the other kindergarten classes to see who will bring in the most donations.
** In Room 106 we focus on kindness, sharing with others is a great example of being kind **
